This article will show you how to add a piece of Equipment. Equipment is added to Products within Proposals and used to calculate equipment costs for jobs.

Create a Piece of Equipment

Step 1: Click the "Equipment" option on the Left Navigation Bar

Step 2: This will show a list of Equipment. Click the blue "Create Equipment Piece" button in the upper, right corner.

Step 3: Enter the associated information about the Equipment

  • Name: Name of the piece of Equipment
  • Charge Type: Is this piece of Equipment billed hourly or by Mileage
  • Rate
    • If Charge Type is Hourly: input the Hourly Rate at which this piece of Equipment is billed.
    • If Charge Type is Mileage: input the rate billed per mile traveled. Mileage is calculated automatically in the proposal from the Primary Address to the Job.
  • Fuel Surcharge: If a fuel surcharge is billed when this piece of equipment is used, enter that amount here. If not fuel surcharge then leave this as 0.
  • On Job Use Rate:Many pieces of equipment are only used during a small portion of the overall job. For example, a skid steer on an asphalt patch may only be used for 1 hour of a 5 hour job or 20% of the time. We can account for this in the proposal by entering the percentage use rate in this box.
    • If the Equipment piece is only used for a portion of the time, enter the percentage in use in this box as a whole number. i.e. 20 for 20%
    • The proposal will automatically calculate the Equipment use in hours based on this input.
      • For example, if a job is expected to be 5 hours and this setting is 20%, the proposal will use 1 hour (5 * .2 = 1) to calculate the On-Job Cost for this piece of Equipment.

Step 4: Click Create in the bottom right corner.
