How to Create an Equipment Piece?

Created by Jared Developer, Modified on Thu, 7 Sep, 2023 at 3:29 PM by Jared Developer

Bitumio > Left Navigation Bar > Product Settings > Equipment

1. Follow the above-mentioned workflow to land on the Organization Equipment Piece screen.

2. Click the button. Doing so opens the Create Equipment Piece screen.

3. Here, enter the name of the equipment piece in the Name field.

4. Use the Charge Type dropdown to select whether this piece of Equipment billed hourly or by Mileage.

5. Use the Rate field to enter the rate of the equipment piece. If Charge Type is Hourly: input the Hourly Rate at which this piece of Equipment is billed. If Charge Type is Mileage: input the rate billed per mile traveled. Mileage is calculated automatically in the proposal from the Primary Address to the Job.

6. Use the Fuel Surcharge field to record fuel surcharge for the equipment piece. If a fuel surcharge is billed when this piece of equipment is used, enter that amount here. If not fuel surcharge then leave this as 0.

7. Enter the on job use rate percentage in the On Job Use Rate % field. Many pieces of equipment are only used during a small portion of the overall job. For example, a skid steer on an asphalt patch may only be used for 1 hour of a 5 hour job or 20% of the time. We can account for this in the proposal by entering the percentage use rate in this box.

If the Equipment piece is only used for a portion of the time, enter the percentage in use in this box as a whole number. i.e. 20 for 20%

The proposal will automatically calculate the Equipment use in hours based on this input. For example, if a job is expected to be 5 hours and this setting is 20%, the proposal will use 1 hour (5 * .2 = 1) to calculate the On-Job Cost for this piece of Equipment.

8. Once the required selections are made, click the button.
