This article will show you how to create a Proposal. For additional information about Proposals see: Structure of a Proposal

Create a Proposal

Add a Proposal

Step 1: Click the "Proposals" option on the Left Navigation Bar

Step 2: This will show a list of Proposals. Click the blue "Create Proposal" button in the upper, right corner.

Step 3: Select the Client for which the Proposal is being created. Select the Contact that will be receiving the Proposal. Select the opportunity source of the Proposal.

Step 4: Click "Continue"

Define the Stage Area

Step 5: Enter a Name for the Stage. For information about what a Stage is, see here. This is a descriptive name for where the work will be performed.

Step 6: Define the Job Area - This step is simply telling the map where to load on subsequent Products.

  • Click on the "Enter Stage Address" box. This will open up Bitumio Maps.

    • Enter the Job Address in the top left corner. (i.e. 50 South Bear Lake Boulevard, Garden City, Utah 84028)
    • In this view, the location of the Job will be defined. All other Products in the Stage will use this same address. Also, when measuring areas for each Product, the Map will open to this exact location each time.
  • Click the "Enable Polygon Mode" in the top left.
    • This will allow you to start clicking points around the area where work will be performed.
  • Draw a big box around the entire area where the work will be performed.
    • This does not need to be accurate. Remember, this is simply telling the map where to load on subsequent Products.
  • Click "Save" in the top left.

Step 7: Click "Continue"

Add a Product

Step 8: Select a Product from the dropdown.

Step 9: Click "Add Product" to add the Product to the Proposal.

Step 10: Enter the Job Size - There are two options to entering the Job Size: 1) Enter the Job Size manually into the input box or 2) Measure the Job using Bitumio Maps.

  • Enter the Job Size Manually by simply typing a number into the "Enter Job Size" input box.
  • Measure the Job Using Bitumio Maps - See this article for information about using the maps.
    • Upon clicking "Save" in the map, the Total Job Size from the map will be entered into the "Enter Job Size" box automatically.
    • This will also attached a screenshot of the map to the product. The screenshot is included in the Proposal and the Work Order.

Step 11: Once the Job Size is entered, Bitumio will run it's magic and auto calculate the Proposal.

Step 12: Once the Proposal has refreshed, simply verify the Cost amounts and Total Product Summary to ensure all looks accurate.

Step 13: If additional Product Services are needed at the Stage Location, click the "Add A Product to Stage" button. This will add another Product to the same Stage Location. Repeat steps 8-13 as necessary.

Add a Stage

Once all the Products are added to a Stage, additional Stages can be added to the Proposal.

Step 1: Click the "Add Stage" button below the existing Stage section.

Step 2: A new Stage is added to the Proposal. Repeat the steps under "Define the Stage Area" and "Add a Product" sections above.
